Welcome to the Allie Alligator class at ECC

I am Sara Sibble and I teach 2 groups of GSRP preschool students at the Holland Early Childhood Center @ Maplewood with Mrs. Herrera, my classroom assistant.
The Allie Alligator morning class of GSRP preschooler students meets M-TH 8:30-11:30am. The Allie Alligator afternoon class of GSRP preschooler students meets M-Th 12:30-3:30pm. A typical day involves greeting time--quiet book look/reading and message board, small group instruction, snack and gross motor indoor or outdoor recess, free choice work time with plan-do-review, and large group instruction. We work each and every day on pre-kindergarten readiness skills.
We use Zoo Phonics to make connections between letters and sounds. Here are some photos of previous students signaling the zoo phonics animal and letter sounds. Click on a picture to be able to see all letters a-z. We use the HighScope curriculum to provide a comprehensive preschool education.
We are excited to get this school year kicked off with families at the GSRP Open House, Monday, October 3 from 4-6 PM. The first day of school for students is Tuesday, October 4. During the month of October our theme is SCHOOL. We will be learning the school behavior expectations and how to be a friend and learner at school.
