Greetings! I am honored to be working with Holland Public Schools.
So what does a school social worker DO anyway?
My duties are varied daily and may include:
-consult with teachers and parents to assist students with social-emotional issues related to school
-assess students for depression and anxiety and how these issues affect learning
-conduct divorce groups, social skills groups, and other groups on an "As needed basis."
-counsel students on various issues as they relate to school including anxiety, depression, anger management, lack of social skills, and home life.
-crisis management
And of course other duties as assigned ;)
