L-R: Assistant Principals Kevin Griffin & Anna Clawson with Principal Justin Jennings

Meet New Principal Justin Jennings

Mr. Justin Jennings was named the new principal of Holland High on Monday, August 27, at a special meeting of the Board of Education.

Mr. Jennings comes to us from Grand Rapids Union, where he was the Principal (and before that assistant principal). Before his tenure at Union, he was the Dean of Students at GR Creston. He's looking forward to working with Holland High Assistant Principals Kevin Griffin and Anna Clawson. "We'll get more and more comfortable working together," he said. "We'll form a good administrative team to lead and support our high quality staff and diverse student body."

Mr. Jennings holds three Masters Degrees (Ed. Leadership, Special Ed. Administration, and Special Ed./Emotional Impairments).  He earned his BA from Purdue, where he played varsity basketball, before going into the NBA for a few years. While at Purdue he earned the school's coveted John Wooden Award as the team MVP.

Superintendent Davis is very excited to have Mr. Jennings at the helm as Holland High's new principal. Mr. Jennings has taught at all three levels (elementary, middle school, and high school) and even coached basketball in the past against Holland High when he was the varsity coach for East Kentwood.

"Mr. Jennings will be an excellent leader at Holland High," said Superintendent Davis. "He is friendly and engaging. He is an experienced administrator with a strong technology background, as he was involved with the 1:1 iPad launch in Grand Rapids. Mr. Jennings is well versed in the State's academic rigor standards and he knows the school improvement process well. I hope everyone in our community joins me in welcoming him to Holland."
