Jefferson Honors "Super Volunteer"
Our district is blessed by the contributions of many parent, retiree, and Kids Hope volunteers. Very few, however, exceed the 15 hours per week that Calvin Hoogstra gives. As a volunteer in the before school "books and breakfast" program, Calvin is always among the first to greet students with friendly encouragement every morning. And then, after helping the program clean up for the day, Calvin stays at school to listen to students read, play games, and assist cafeteria staff set up for lunch. His smile and helping hand is there for school family nights and special assemblies, too. Thank you, Mr. Hoogstra!
