HPS Students and Parents Have Three Options for Secondary Programs this Fall

Holland Public Schools will expand the number of ways secondary students can achieve success and pursue their post-high school education and career paths.

Holland High School has earned state and national recognition for its academic, arts, and athletic programs. It will continue providing traditional, honors, and AP programs on campus along with a host of extracurricular activities. When Holland New Tech opens this fall, Holland High will flexibly serve about 850-1100 students, grades 8-12.

Holland New Tech will open its doors this fall to a maximum of 200 students, split evenly between 8th and 9th graders. As part of the national New Tech Network, this school (in the renovated Longfellow site) will offer the full range of core curriculum to students in a technology-driven, project-based learning environment. Holland New Tech students will participate in their electives and extra-curriculars at Holland High, which will serve as a hub.

VR Tech is in the former Van Raalte Elementary. Opening in the fall of 2009, its first year has sparked consistent student growth both in achievement and student enrollment. The recent passage of the building bond proposals will increase the numbers served. VR Tech delivers credit recovery and GED prep classes through a computer-based learning lab platform. Students up to 20 years of age are eligible.
