A Culture of Thinking
Jefferson School has established a "Culture of Thinking" for 4th and 5th graders in the Holland Public Schools. Staff regularly collaborate in order to excel in the delivery of 4th and 5th grade curriculum. Strategies to enhance student learning are continually researched and implemented across all classrooms. Students engage in thinking-based learning activities that solidify the major concepts within the 4th and 5th grade curriculum. Mastery of basic skills are applied to lessons culminating in deep understanding of complex concepts. Students learn to visibly demonstrate their thinking and to actively demonstrate their knowledge.
