Meet the Academic Boosters

DO YOU WANT TO MEET OTHER HHS PARENTS?
DO YOU WANT TO BE “IN THE LOOP”?
DO YOU WANT TO STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR STUDENT’S
SCHOOL?

Holland High Academic Boosters are currently inactive... but stay tuned in case meetings begin again!

Who are we?

Holland High parents who want to practically and positively “boost” the achievements of HHS students. Our mission statement: “We are a group of parents willing to undertake specific projects designed to position HHS students to be more academically successful and to celebrate that success.”

What do we do?

We focus on academic support, academic recognition, and communication. We work together with HHS Principal Trujillo, teachers, and guidance counselors to:
*Enhance communication between HHS parents, students, and the school.
*Find meaningful opportunities for parents to help at the school and in the classrooms.
*Recognize and advocate for each student’s accomplishments.

Completed projects

*Helped rewrite the students’ course catalog and core selection materials for class sign ups.
*Wrote a grant application that gave Holland High a $25,000 award from the Holland Education Association for 25 Dell computers for the school’s business lab.

Ongoing projects

*Meet monthly, with a variety of topics and speakers, and helpful parent-to-parent exchanges of ideas and information. (Great for new HHS parents!)
*Create a monthly “MindSpace” display case in the main school hallway to highlight HHS student achievements and activities.
*Provide teacher appreciation dinners during the Mondays of HHS parent-teacher conferences each trimester, and occasional treats in the staff lounge.
*Assemble and update a parent volunteer list.
