Holland Educational Foundation

HEF Grants
The Holland Public Schools Educational Foundation (HEF) exists to raise public support for, and award grants to, HPS staff in order to improve HPS students' quality of learning. These grants will provide financial support for programs and projects which benefit students and expand their academic experiences, but which fall outside of regular district funding. All funded projects must directly impact student motivation and learning, and be related to specific HPS curriculum goals.

How Awards are Made
The Holland Educational Foundation Board determines the grants to be awarded. The board makes its selections based, in part, upon research and recommendations made by its grant-selection subcommittee. Each grant application is evaluated for its:

Potential benefit to students

  • Adherence to HPS curriculum goals
  • Numbers of and degrees of student involvement
  • Uniqueness
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Application presentation

Who is Eligible?
Any HPS teacher/staff member may apply.

How to Apply
Current grant applications and instructions may be downloaded from this site and completed in Microsoft Word. ALL grant applications must be emailed to a building principal, who will signal his/her approval by forwarding the application on to the HEF office prior to the grant cycle deadline. If making a request for technology items, please email the help desk for a formal quote at least one week prior to the grant deadline.
